We have a great community team, and a distributed engineering team with an agile development methodology and a strong focus on design and user experience. Now we&#8217;re looking for somebody with development and system administration skills to join us as we engineer, deliver, and support this and future products. You&#8217;re able to work at home and commit at least 20 hours/week as part of our distributed engineering team.</p>
<p>In this role, you&#8217;ll</p>
<ul>
<li>Help define and implement our first product</li>
<li>Lead deployment, including selecting and managing an XMPP server, defining an operations strategy, and adminstering the hosted Linux environment</li>
<li>Work with a technically reknowned CTO and a great design and engineering team using technologies like Ruby, Cucumber, Javascript, XMPP, Capistrano</li>
<li>Participate in the building of a startup and architecture through rapid growth</li>
</ul>
<h3><span style="color: #00b19d;"><br />
Skills and experience</span></h3>
<ul>
<li>XMPP (openfire, ejabberd, tigase, etc.) or IRC development or administration experience highly preferred</li>
<li>Self-managing, responsive, and quick at discovering information online, and good at learning by doing</li>
<li>Open-source or commercial programming experience. Ruby or PHP preferred</li>
<li>Experience working as part of a distributed development team</li>
<li>One to three years years experience administering a user-focused web application on a Linux environment</li>

We see this as a great opportunity to get to know each other, and envision this role transitioning into an employee joining our startup team.</p>
<p><span style="color: #00b19d;"><strong><span style="color: #333333;">Location</span></strong></span>: Qworky is based in Seattle, and most of us live in the Pacific Northwest or the San Francisco Bay Area. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Qworky, a nascent technology startup based out of Seattle currently developing online tools for better meetings, is looking for our first Front End Developer.  We&#8217;re a diverse team with successful startup experience, open to new ideas and approaches. Join us as we deliver our first product!</p>
<p><strong>What we&#8217;re looking for</strong></p>
<p>We&#8217;re looking for a passionate Front End Designer with strong (X)HTML, CSS Development Experience to partner directly with startup co-founders to define/develop a User Interface that expresses our brand style and user experience. Must be able to commit 20 hours per week working directly with our engineering team as a freelance professional, with a mutual interest in developing into a permanent role.</p>
<p>The role will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Envision, develop, and define an inviting and differentiated, and intuitive user experience</li>
<li>Propose ideas and new approaches for implementing pre-defined user requirements</li>
<li>Work with Engineering to integrate frontend design with backend systems</li>
<li>Have an opportunity to influence feature sets, and learn the funding/startup process</li>
<li>Work alongside industry leading strategists, computer security/engineering experts</li>
<li>Work offsite, via digital (Blog, Twitter, Google Wave) and coffee shop collaboration</li>
</ul>
<p>Candidates should be self-directed with an entrepreneurial drive and a keen attention to detail, and a passion for usable and seamless user experiences.</p>
<p>Compensation: Open/Negotiable &#8211; Likely beginning as a $5K contract role (negotiable) with goal of evolving into an equity role based on success working together and experience.<strong> </strong></p>

We’re looking for a dynamic individual ready to learn to build a community from the ground up. Are you driven? Self directed? Do you desire additional experience in marketing and social media? Do you want to learn how to build startups and communities from the ground up? If so our unpaid social media and community internship opportunity may be the perfect opportunity for you!</p>
<p>Our team has decades of experience in creating venture backed technology startups, and proven marketing, branding, and social media experience. This represents a great opportunity to build your resume, and learn how to intersect community and marketing plans, alongside some of the industry’s best. We’re an open collaboration team so you’ll be involved in brainstorm, and have an opportunity to give your feedback on strategic planning- and even be involved in product reviews.</p>
